After a full day of flushing with water and a little fruit juice. Whew. It was quite scary to consider having kidney stones. It's a good reminder of where I'm at with my training. I've moved up considerably and I have to have my water intake match that.
Had a good ride this morning. It was funny -- I was really fighting my head to get out and go ("So many things to do..."). I thought: "I'll just do a short one." Before I knew it, I was out pedalling and I went about 40 miles. That's a good 2.5 hour ride for me and it's still a great charge to do that.
For the log -- I rolled down Culver to the Ballona Creek trail, rode out onto Playa Vista, onto Highland, down to PV (just along the beach before the hill), then rolled back along Manhattan, Playa Del Rey then the Marina and home.
I saw a dolphin cruising out in the Manhattan waters.

The Big 6-oh! Today was a brilliant ride all the way down to 2200 25th St, San Pedro, CA (feel free to http://maps.google.com it). 60's a slight guestimation as I don't have my meter-reader yet, but based on the road map distance, that seems about right. I rode for about 3.5 hours -- so that was a good pace: approx 17.5 mph avg..
Incredible beauty up in the Rancho Palos Verdes area. Homes...well, it's silly to even call them homes. They are mansions -- the real deal mansions on big cliffsides overlooking the gorgeous pacific. One shot in particular almost made me wreck as I saw this woman standing atop a hill and if you framed her just right (taking out the road beneath her, it looks like this hillside comes wAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy out of the ocean and she is standing on it's peak, majestically looking over the kingdom of Pacifica Oceanus.

I was really pumped to ride today since it rained yesterday and I went to the gym instead. Not the same deal, Shaquille. My Bella, Annamaria, said I'm becoming a snob -- I suppose that's at least partially true. I love being outdoors. I love the changing road conditions. I love the smell and feel of the ocean -- where I ride nearby for the most part. But even inland, there's life. The gym, while beneficial -- don't get me wrong -- can be awfully stale. Experiencing work and sweat outdoor, in "nature" is much more gratifying. Then again -- it's new to me. Maybe in a few months I'll be saying, WOW, you know this whole gym thing is INTENSE!
